Stonehorn beastriders rampage helps when you charge something and SOMEHOW wipe the unit with trampling charge you could then pile in to a fresh combat to fight in. maybe charge STBR and FLOSH TOGETHER double trampling charge then FLOSH RAMPAGE for another d3 damage then both moving further towards relevant targets.

this might be a just me thing, but a way to see the character sheets of the players would be cool.

I cant see how you would play beastclaw now.. maybe frostlord, huskard both being priests with a unit of cav each.. then youd fill with gluttons and maybe some beastriders.. as a 2 drop but seems pretty weak

Played Ogor today and I can say: They dont know what to do with ogres. They think were defensive, therefore the healspell, which is useless sinces Ogres die way to quickly and healing them isnt really worth it. Then if you want to heal them, you have to castle, which is not possible since they are made of glass. Right know they are only 4 viable units within the Ogre Army: Butcher, Slaughtermaster, Gutbuster an Ironguts. And Ironguts only if you reinforce them, otherwise, theyll die way to quickly. Quite bummed how Ogres play. They play extremly flat, but maybe I have to test them a little bit more.

big Edit: I need everyone complaining about points hikes to direct their attention at the average points-per-box of 40k combat patrols witch are historically MORE expensive then spearheads. Seriously point hiking virtually everything at the start of the edition is DUB for matched play. Stuff thats udnerperforming can drop as needed. Players hungry for giant games can see 3000 points. Its a rare pro-consumer GW move and i need people to stop hating it because before theyve even put models on a table they saw their pet unit went up 80 points.

The CoS +3" range subfaction makes shoot-and-scoot units like Corsairs and Dark Riders a heck of a lot more viable.

Unsure about the regiment system so far. I'll have to play a few games to see if having a bunch of heroes or getting to sometimes pick who goes first is more fun

I wonder if the new regiment list building system mostly tying drops 1 for 1 with heroes is the design team trying to bully the meta away from a default 1 or 2 drop armies.

Knight-Questor has an underworlds warband, but afaik you can also take him without it. He comes by himself in the Skaventide box, propably shouldn't just ignore him

Played a lot of RIFTS, and while people shit on it for being anti-balance and a tonal mess - it was the first game I came across that explicitly rewarded you with more xp for looking after civilians and being a clever planner and bullshitter. The last game we played revolved around us trying to do a culture war against the CS: cooperating with them to contain existential threats like the bugs, challenging them to compete in a Psychic Olympic Games (with Lazlo), and my favourite thing: which was a racy radio play series we made and distributed called 'Stalkers' which was about how their mutant dog soldiers are people deserving dignity and self-determination, and how the mystic-sensitive psi-stalkers are the most important resource in their arsenal. Campaigns never finish, but we were just seeing the beginnings of prickly independence, hints of withdrawing their labour or deserting, if not actual mutiny. I love RIFTS, but I hate that Palladium itself can't seem to clearly condemn the Coalition for its racism and fascism. I bought some of their merch a few years ago, and apart from a 'Wilk's Laser Technologies' shirt and a colouring book, it's all dog-whistle fascist stuff. Do better Palladium!

Atlantis and tattoo magic, such a great concept, and I always loved the megaverse crossworlds feel..we ran a campaign with a Robotech veritech fighter piloted by a technowizard, a dragon, a heavily modified golden boy, an ascended evolved mutant human from Mutants in Space, a south american master vampire who broke off from his vampire intelligence, and me, the tattoo master stone geomancer atlantean. Good times.

Rifts was a massive part of my teen years. A friend of mine owned almost every book and our group would hang out at his house for hours a week to play or just read his collection. Good times. Can’t wait to watch you play!
